AREA記事「社会起業家で働きたい！」

報告し忘れましたが今週発売のAERA（03, 7.7)で「社会起業家で働きたい！」という特集記事が3ページに渡って紹介されていますね-。副題に「好きな仕事で評価されて暮らせる楽しさ～社会起業家という働き方を選ぶ20～30代がいる。社会貢献を目指して活動するNPOや企業でありながら、持ち出しでなはなく、生活できるだけの正答者報酬も得る」と-。

まずはAERAにこのようなキーワードで特集が組まれていることに「いい感じ」と思う反面、言葉が独り歩きしなければ、と願う自分もあります。

いつからか自分の中では「社会起業家」という言葉を使う機会が非常に減りました-。それは多分「君も社会起業家になれる！」とか「私は社会起業家ですか？」とか、一時期のネットベンチャーがはやったときによく聞かれた「僕もビルゲイツになりたい！」と重なるようななんだかしっくりしない気がしたからです。

自分がどんな言葉を代わりに使っているかというと「社会起業家的な新しい働き方」であったり「社会的なやりがいを感じつつ好きなことを事業化して収入を得る生活スタイル」とか、「Make Difference while making profit」「innovative way of doing business」というような言葉がぽろぽろとまとまりもなく使ってしまっています。

つまりせっかくのムーブメント、狭義な定義に当てはめて一部の変わった人たちの働き方の社会現象、と捉えるのではなく、もっともっと広い意味で働き方の革命的な変革でありmovementが起きている、として広く捕らえてほしい、と願っているので。。。

そうはいってもAERAの威力は凄いですからね。これをきっかけに多くの人がぼんやりとでも「あぁ、そうかー、こんな働き方もあるんだぁ」と考えるきっかけになればうれしいです。
